Pay Range: Generally starting at $3,000 per 3-credit hour course; $1,000 per credit hour. Courses with low enrollment (less than 12 students) may be canceled. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
Work Location: Determined by course modality. Generally on campus, in person. Remote teaching opportunities may be available under certain conditions.
Summary
The College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in the Counseling and Human Services program from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester. This position will teach graduate and/or undergraduate Counseling and Human Services classes. Graduate classes align with CACREP standards and accreditation. Undergraduate courses are designed to meet the standards outlined by the Council for Standards in Human Services. Classes primarily meet in-person on-campus and also may be offered in hybrid, weekend intensive, and other formats.
Tentative Search Timeline
This is an evergreen Lecturer Pool for the Department of Counseling and Human Services at UCCS. Applications will be reviewed on a semester-by-semester basis as business needs arise.

- Spring Semester: November 1, 2025
- Summer Semester: March 1, 2026

- Potential Start Dates: Employment start dates will vary based on course scheduling needs and will align with the start of the relevant academic semester.
Because this appointment is temporary in nature, you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to faculty under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave, medical, or retirement benefits. However, you are eligible to accrue sick leave at 0.034 hours of sick leave per hour worked.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling or a closely related field is required
- Relevant license as a Licensed Professional, Addictions, or School Counselor is required
- Professional experience in the specific course content area is required
- The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision
- Experience teaching in a CACREP accredited counseling program is highly desirable
