Augusta University's Katherine Reese Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in clinical or counseling psychology. The area of research emphasis is open but individuals whose research program focuses on child/adolescents, lifespan development or clinical neuropsychology are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates should show a commitment to effective pedagogy for undergraduate and graduate classes and have a productive research program in which they are able to mentor students.

Responsibilities

Candidates will be engaged in clinical supervision, show a commitment to effective pedagogy for undergraduate and graduate classes, and have a productive research program in which they are able to mentor students.

Required Qualifications

Candidates will be engaged in clinical supervision and must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited university and be license-eligible in the state of Georgia.

Assistant Professor- Terminal degree or its equivalent in training, ability, and/or experience.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other assigned duties;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.


Preferred Qualifications

Individuals with the ability to teach cognitive assessment and/or whose research focuses on child/adolescents, lifespan development, or clinical neuropsychology are especially encouraged to apply.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.

Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Katherine Reese Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences forms the heart of the liberal arts mission of Augusta University. The Master's degree program offers three concentrations: MPCAC accredited Clinical/Counseling, Applied Experimental, and General Experimental.

We are growing. Construction is underway for clinical training as well as human subject research. Very soon, clinical faculty will have more room for trainees to conduct therapy and assessment. In addition, research faculty will have laboratory space for the study of clinical, cognitive, social, and developmental bases of behavior. Construction is estimated to be complete by November 2024.
